How to add captions by uploading an SRT file to your project
Please Note: Uploading an SRT file for captions is a paid feature. You will be able to edit videos with this feature for free, but you‘ll need to subscribe to one of the plans to export and download such videos.
SRT files contain subtitle information, including the sequential number of subtitles, start and end time code of your text to ensure that the subtitles of the file match your audio and visuals.
Typito allows you to upload your SRT file (in any language), and it will automatically create the captions and sync them with the audio and visuals on your video.
So let's learn how to add an SRT file to your project, step by step -
Step 1: Click Captions and choose a theme: Choose a caption theme that fits your use case. We love the one with the highlight.
Step 2: This opens up the Appearance Menu - Here, you can make your captions brand-compliant by choosing your own brand font and color. Style the captions by changing the size and alignment.
Note: If you are uploading an SRT file in a language other than English, please make sure you have uploaded a custom font to Typito that supports that language. Please choose that font in the font selector here as well.
Step 3: Click 'Next, Add content.'
You can add captions using 3 ways with Typito. To upload the SRT file, choose the First option.
Step 4: Select Upload File.
Step 5: Time to upload your SRT file - You can click Browse and upload the SRT file from your computer, or you might drag the file and drop it into the box. And your file will be ready and good to go!
After uploading your SRT file, Typito will process the file and neatly synced it with the timing of audio and visuals. It's that easy!
If you want to edit any of the captions on Typito, you can do that by moving to the point in the video where you want to make the change. To edit, you can either click the caption box on the left-hand side panel or the one that you see on the video in the edit area.
You can also delete any caption boxes by clicking on the 'bin' icon beside every box.
That's it! We hope you have fun captioning with Typito.
