How to get custom fonts and upload the same on Typito

Custom Fonts are available as part of the Typito Brand Kit. With Custom Fonts, you can add text to videos in specific fonts that are unique to your video style, branding, or language.

The Custom Fonts feature currently supports 3 font formats - ttf, otf, and woff. You can upload up to 5 fonts to create videos on Typito.

Note: Custom Fonts are available as part of the Typito Brand Kit. This is a premium feature available in all paid plans. Check out our flexible plans here.

While you can edit videos with custom fonts for free, you‘ll need to subscribe to one of the plans to export and download such videos. If you haven't subscribed to a plan, you will find the Brand Kit view under Team Settings look like this:

Getting Started with Custom Fonts on Typito:

Part 1 - How to upload your font (using Google Fonts)

Part 2 - How to add your custom font on Typito

Note: If you don’t have a file with your required fonts, check out Part 1 below to learn how to create and download your custom font from Google. If you already have a custom font file, skip to Part 2 to learn how to upload your font to Typito.

Part 1 - How to Upload your Font (using Google Fonts)

Let's assume that you want to upload a brand font using the Custom

Fonts on Typito.

In the following example, let's assume the font you want is a Greek font that's compliant with your brand.

Step 1: Go to Google Fonts and use the language filter on the right side to pick a language. We’ll choose Greek for this example.

Step 2: Choose a font.

Once you've chosen Greek, Google Fonts shows you the list of fonts that support the Greek language. Choose a font by clicking on the red (+) icon next to the title of the font in the list.

We’ll pick Fira Sans (which is our brand font).

You can also try out the different styles available in a given font (eg. Regular, Bold, etc) in this view.

Once you've chosen the font, it will show a tab that says the font family is selected. On clicking it, opens up with this view:

Step 3: Choose font Customization.

Remember, we’re trying to add the Fira Sans Regular font that can be used to type the Greek language on our videos on Typito.

This means we’d have to choose the right font style and language support from the customization options listed out here.

We’ve selected Fira Sans Regular (400) font that supports Greek, Greek Extended, and Latin characters.

Now you can go ahead and download the font by clicking the download icon at the top bottom of the tab:

You now have a zip file that has the font file "FiraSans-Regular.ttf".

In the next section, let's learn how to add the font in Typito!

Part 2 - How to Add your custom font on Typito

Step 1: Navigate to Brand Kit under Settings and click on Upload Font:

On clicking that, a popup appears requesting you to upload the font file. Go ahead and upload the ttf file that you downloaded. It will show you a view like this:

Here, you need to ensure that the Language is selected as Greek. You can also change the Label to be like "Fira Sans Regular Greek" so that you know the font supports Greek when you spot in with the other fonts while editing a video.
The changes would be:

Once that's done, click Upload and your font would get uploaded to your Typito Brand Kit! It would show up with your other custom fonts:

You can also upload font while editing the video by going to the text edit panel and adding a custom font.
